Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9
Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will begin on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. The device is set to release on June 5, 2025, and will retail for $449.99.
Additionally, a special bundle called the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will be available for $499.99 in the U.S., featuring the system along with a download code for the popular Mario Kart World game. For those who prefer to buy the game separately, it will carry a suggested retail price of $79.99.

Currently, you can express your interest through My Nintendo Store to receive invitations for preorders via email. These invitations will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, giving priority to users with a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025. Once priority users receive their invites, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Each invitation is valid for 72 hours, and purchases are limited to one system and one of each accessory per account.
Major retailers are expected to open preorders simultaneously on April 9, 2025.
Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo President, expressed excitement over the new console, stating, "Nintendo Switch 2 is the next step in at-home gaming that can be taken on the go, building on eight years of play and discovery since the original Nintendo Switch."
