This means that in just a couple of months, you'll be able to find Alarmo on the shelves of major retailers like Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other Nintendo-approved stores worldwide.

Excitingly, the requirement for a Nintendo Online membership to purchase Alarmo will be dropped, making it accessible to everyone. Priced at $99.99 USD, Alarmo is set to become a popular choice for fans looking to enhance their morning routines with a touch of Nintendo magic.

While the gaming community buzzes with anticipation for news on the Switch 2, Nintendo remains focused on delivering this unique device to its fans without spilling any beans on their next console.

Nintendo Alarmo Sold Out A Day After its Announcement

The enthusiasm for Alarmo was palpable right after its announcement on October 9, 2024. In Japan, the demand was so high that Nintendo had to suspend sales on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to manage the overwhelming interest.

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."

In New York City, Alarmo sold out on the same day, but without a lottery system. The store promised updates to customers as soon as new stock was available.

Nintendo Alarmo Features

Alarmo, launched by Nintendo in 2024, is more than just an alarm clock. It's a gateway to your favorite Nintendo worlds, featuring sound effects from beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, and more. With 42 scenes to choose from initially, and plans for free updates including scenes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Alarmo lets you wake up to the sounds and sights of your favorite games.

When you set an alarm, a character from your chosen scene appears on the screen, patiently waiting. As the alarm sounds, the character wakes up and plays a gentle sound. A visitor soon arrives, and you can quiet the alarm by waving your hand or moving your body, thanks to Alarmo's motion sensor. If you linger in bed, a more insistent visitor will appear, and the sound will escalate until you get up.

Beyond waking you up, Alarmo adds ambiance with hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to your selected scene. It also tracks your sleep patterns, recording the time you spend in bed and your movements during sleep. For those sharing a bed with others or pets, Nintendo recommends using Button Mode, which will no longer require a Nintendo Online membership once the expanded release hits in March 2025.
