Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), with his new role taking effect on April 1, 2025. This announcement comes from a press release issued this evening, which also details significant leadership changes within Sony Corporation. Hiroki Totoki, previously the CFO, is set to become the president and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida, who has led the company since April 2018, succeeding Kazuo Hirai. Additionally, Lin Tao, the current SVP of Finance, Corporate Development, and Strategy, will step into the role of CFO.

Just last year, following the retirement of former SIE CEO Jim Ryan, it was announced that leadership responsibilities would be shared between Nishino and Hermen Hulst. Hulst was appointed to head PlayStation Studios, while Nishino took charge of hardware and technology. With this recent change, Nishino now assumes full leadership of SIE, overseeing the entire operation and leading the platform business group, while Hulst continues to focus specifically on PlayStation Studios.

Nishino, who has been with Sony since 2000, previously held the position of SVP of the Platform Experience Group.
