The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered brings new life to one of Bethesda's most cherished titles, enhancing visuals, gameplay mechanics, and more. Yet, the team at Virtuos made sure to preserve one of the original game's most memorable moments.

Long-time Elder Scrolls fans are likely familiar with Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf located in the Temple of the One in the Imperial City. When Oblivion first launched on PC and Xbox 360 nearly two decades ago, Tandilwe's dialogue included an amusing voice acting flub by actress Linda Kenyon, which has since become a beloved part of the game.

As players explored the revamped Cyrodiil starting yesterday, many were eager to see how true the remaster stayed to the original. While numerous aspects like environments, character models, and items have been beautifully updated, fans are thrilled to find that many of the quirks that made the 2006 version of Oblivion so unique remain. Tandilwe’s iconic blooper, still without subtitles, is one such cherished element that has made a return, much to the delight of the community.

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Linda Kenyon humorously defended her blooper, saying, "It wasn't my fault!"

As thousands dive into Oblivion Remastered, discussions are ongoing about whether this release is more of a remake than a remaster. However, many are simply pleased to see the charm and quirks of the original largely preserved. Both Bethesda and Virtuos have made it clear that maintaining these elements was a priority, and so far, the reception from both new and returning players has been positive.
