Palworld Now in Development for Mobile by PUBG Creators
Krafton and Pocket Pair are collaborating to bring Palworld to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios, to adapt the core Palworld gameplay for mobile platforms. This licensing agreement signifies an expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.
However, details regarding the mobile version remain scarce. The original Palworld game, released on Xbox and Steam in January, and later on PlayStation 5 (excluding Japan), has gained significant popularity. The exclusion of Japan from the PS5 release is possibly linked to an ongoing lawsuit filed by Nintendo, alleging patent infringement concerning the mechanics of catching Pals, similar to Pokémon's Pokéball system. Pocket Pair denies knowledge of the specific patents in question.
Krafton's involvement is strategic, given Pocket Pair's current focus on developing the existing game. While the partnership is promising, the mobile project is likely in its early stages.
