Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed easily-missed encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, extra passive skill points, and weapon set skill points. One such encounter is the Sisters of Garukhan, providing a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff. This guide explains how to locate and activate this crucial encounter.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its understated icon on the world map makes it easily overlooked.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the Sisters' exact location within the Spires of Deshar isn't fixed. However, it's always present on this map. Thorough exploration is key. The shrine resembles the image above. Upon interaction, be prepared for combat; nearby automatons will activate and attack. Activating the shrine triggers all automatons on the map.

If you reach a checkpoint before finding the shrine, fast travel back to it to avoid re-navigating the entire map.

Activating the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied immediately upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's an instant buff.

Complete the encounter in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel to receive the buff twice, for a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why the Buff Isn't Showing

Many players find it confusing that their resistances remain negative even after activating the buff. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected).

Therefore, after completing the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2, your net Lightning Resistance will be zero (the buff cancels the Act 1 debuff). In Act 2 Cruel, your Lightning Resistance will improve from -40% to -30% after activating the shrine again.

To verify the buff's activation, unequip all gear and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance indicates that you've successfully completed both encounters.
