Niantic has kicked off the Wayfarer Challenge in Pokémon Go, offering players in Chile and India the opportunity to influence their game environment while earning unique rewards. By assessing Wayspot submissions on the Niantic Wayfarer platform, trainers can help establish new PokéStops and Gyms in Pokémon Go and unlock milestone-based prizes.

The Pokémon Go Wayfarer Challenge is scheduled for March 7-9 in Chile and March 10-12 in India. During this period, players can propose real-world sites, such as statues, murals, or notable landmarks, to become PokéStops or Gyms.

Contributing to nomination reviews helps achieve community milestones. If 5,000 nominations are finalized, participants will earn 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Reaching 10,000 approvals unlocks 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.

To participate, players must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and registered with a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users must complete the Wayfarer Orientation before reviewing submissions. 

Participants must have recently played in Chile or India or set their Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To qualify for rewards, players need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one milestone must be met.

Running alongside the Wayfarer Challenge, the PokéStop Challenge event occurs from March 9-12 in Chile and India. Visiting newly added PokéStops grants 3x XP for first-time stops, 3x Stardust from Gifts, and higher Kecleon encounters. Event Field Research includes Eevee encounters, while Timed Research offers chances to catch other Pokémon.
