Get ready for the *Pokémon GO* Bug Out event! This spring event celebrates all things bug-type Pokémon, offering increased encounter rates for a variety of creepy crawlies, exciting bonuses, and new avatar items. Prepare for a flurry of bug catching!
Event Details
When is the *Pokémon GO* Bug Out Event?
The Bug Out event runs from March 26th, 10 AM to March 30th, 8 PM local time. That’s five days of bug-catching fun! This event is perfect for Shiny hunters, as many featured Pokémon have shiny variants.
Featured Wild Pokémon
The following bug-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, Nymble, and Cutiefly (with shiny potential).
New Pokémon
Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch, debut during this event! Evolve Sizzlipede using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Raid battles will feature:
One-Star Raids
Scyther, Nincada, Sizzlipede
Three-Star Raids
Beedrill, Scizor, Kleavor ( denotes shiny possibility)
Event Bonuses
Enjoy these bonuses throughout the event:
- Double XP for Nice Throws or better.
- Increased Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- Increased Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (Trainers over Level 31).
- Sizzlipede attracted by Lure Modules.
- Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
- Bonus Pokémon spawns near lured PokéStops with multiple catches from a single Lure Module.
Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Timed Research
Spin PokéStops for event-themed Field Research tasks rewarding Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and Pokémon encounters. Timed Research offers Lure Modules and Pokémon encounters, while Paid Timed Research includes additional Premium Battle Passes. Remember to claim rewards before the event ends.
Bug-Themed Avatar Items
New avatar items, including Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket, will be available in the in-game shop.
