The iconic monster is making a thrilling return in the teaser trailer for the eagerly anticipated sci-fi action sequel, Predator: Badlands, which recently dropped online. In the intriguing sneak peek below, we're introduced to the film's star, Elle Fanning, portraying a character who seems to inhabit a perilous future on a remote planet. However, the twist is that the Predator she encounters is unique and may even take on the role of the protagonist this time around. The teaser boldly states, "The director of Prey welcomes you to a world of pain," setting the stage for intense action.

Apart from this new iteration of the Predator, there are evident references to the Alien universe, sparking speculation that Badlands might pave the way for a new Aliens vs Predator film. We notice Elle Fanning's eyes displaying the Weyland Yutani reboot effect, similar to that seen in Alien: Romulus, hinting at her character possibly being a synthetic. Additionally, there's a clear shot of the Weyland Yutani logo—the notorious megacorp central to the Alien franchise—on a damaged vehicle.

Predator: Badlands was first announced in February 2024, with its release date set for November 7, 2025, confirmed later that year in October. The trailer made its exclusive debut at CinemaCon earlier this month, and this is the first opportunity for fans to get a glimpse of the upcoming film.

During CinemaCon, 20th Century Studios unveiled the official synopsis for the movie: "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."

Elle Fanning shared some exciting details with the audience at CinemaCon, saying, "Something unprecedented happens in this movie. My character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator. And you get to see him in a completely new light. And... I'll stop there!"
