For fans of the game's most coveted mineral, the Prismatic Shard, new acquisition methods have emerged, and some existing ones have been refined. This guide has been meticulously updated to reflect the latest changes and ensure players have the most current information at their fingertips.

Prismatic Shard Locations

• Once you reach the bottom of the Mines, every monster has a 0.05% chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard.
• A 0.09% chance exists to find one in the chum bucket of a Fish Pond stocked with Rainbow Trout, but only if the pond houses at least 9 fish.
• Serpents and Mummies in Skull Cavern, along with Wilderness and Iridium Golems post-Combat Level 10, have a 0.1% chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard.
• An Omni Geode or a Mystery Box offers a 0.4% chance of containing a Prismatic Shard.
• A Golden Mystery Box boosts the odds to 0.79%.
• An Iridium Node in Skull Cavern, the Volcano Dungeon, or the Quarry has a 3.5% chance of yielding a Prismatic Shard.
• Treasure Chests in Skull Cavern offer about a 3.8% chance.
• A Mystic Node, recognizable by its dark blue hue and curlicue patterns, found in Skull Cavern, the Quarry, or the Mines on floors 100 and above, has a 25% chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard.
• A 25% chance also exists for a Prismatic Shard to drop from a meteorite that lands on your farm.
• The first time you reach the end of the Volcano Dungeon, a chest awaits with one Prismatic Shard inside.
• If Emily hosts a stall at the Desert Festival, she'll sell a Prismatic Shard for 500 Calico Eggs.

Prismatic Shard Uses

Crafting & Bundles

• The Prismatic Shard is one of six options for the Missing Bundle, essential for unlocking the Movie Theater. This bundle appears in the abandoned JojaMart post-Community Center completion.
• In multiplayer mode, it's a key ingredient in crafting the Wedding Ring, which allows players to propose to one another. Alongside the shard, you'll need 5 Iridium Bars. The recipe is available at the Traveling Cart for 500g.

Gifting

• Prismatic Shards are a Loved gift for all villagers except Haley, making them an excellent choice for boosting relationships with your favorite NPCs. While other Loved gifts are usually more accessible, Prismatic Shards can be a game-changer in deepening your bonds.

Weapons

• A single Prismatic Shard is needed to acquire the Galaxy Sword, one of Stardew Valley's top weapons. To obtain it, bring your shard to the center of the three obelisks in the Calico Desert, where it will transform into the legendary sword.
• At Ginger Island's Volcano Forge, you can use Prismatic Shards and Cinder Shards to enchant your tools and weapons, adding powerful magical effects.

Trades

• On Thursdays, trade three Prismatic Shards with the Calico Desert trader for one Magic Rock Candy, a potent food item that boosts Mining, Attack, Defense, Luck, and Speed.
• For a darker transaction, bring a Prismatic Shard to the Witch's Hut and interact with the Dark Shrine of Selfishness. This will transform your children into doves, permanently removing them from the game.

Quests

• The only quest currently involving Prismatic Shards is Mr. Qi's Four Precious Stones, accessible in the Walnut Room. To complete it, deliver four Prismatic Shards to Mr. Qi before the deadline.
