Orr described Lillis' passing as peaceful and painless, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by fans and friends. She noted Lillis was deeply touched by the kindness expressed on the GoFundMe page, cherishing memories of fan interactions at conventions.
The GoFundMe campaign, established to aid Lillis during her illness, has surpassed $100,000 in donations from over 2,700 contributors. Remaining funds will cover medical costs, memorial services, and support cancer-related charities in Lillis' memory.
Fellow voice actress Veronica Taylor, known for voicing Ash Ketchum, paid tribute on Twitter(X), praising Lillis' exceptional talent and kind heart. Tara Sands, the voice of Bulbasaur, also offered condolences, highlighting the profound impact of the outpouring of love Lillis received.
Fans across social media shared heartfelt tributes, remembering Lillis' significant contributions to their childhoods. Beyond her Pokémon roles, her work in "Revolutionary Girl Utena" and "Ape Escape 2" also garnered much praise.
Born July 8, 1969, in Niagara Falls, New York, Lillis honed her vocal skills through opera training in college. Her impressive career included voicing characters in 423 episodes of Pokémon (1997-2015), Jigglypuff in the Super Smash Bros. series, and in the 2019 film "Detective Pikachu," according to her IMDB page.
