Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious region located in the northern part of Reaper's Coast, is shrouded in intrigue and cut off from the mainland by the deadly Deathfog. The only bridge that once connected it to the coast is now destroyed, making conventional access impossible. Venturing to Bloodmoon Island not only deepens the main storyline but also unlocks a wealth of side quests. However, reaching this elusive location can be challenging due to the game's lack of explicit guidance. Here's how you can navigate to Bloodmoon Island and advance your journey in Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Spirit Vision Shows The Way

Bloodmoon Island was once accessible via a bridge from Reaper's Coast, located northeast of Cloisterwood, near the areas where you'll find Jahan and Witch Alice. Upon reaching the bridge, you'll also unlock the Driftwood Fields waypoint. To reveal the broken segments of the bridge, simply cast Spirit Vision. Navigating the bridge is tricky due to its trapped sections, but with the right skills or items, you can cross it safely:

1. Gloves of Teleportation: Available from the first act, these gloves allow you to teleport without needing the skill. Use them to transport each companion across the bridge, though it may take some time.

2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat can help you teleport across the bridge. Keep in mind that not all party members may have access to these skills.

3. Teleporter Pyramids: These artifacts enable warping between pyramids. Place one pyramid in a companion's inventory who can use translocation skills to cross the bridge. Once they reach the other side, the rest of the party can warp to their location using the second pyramid.

4. Fast Travel: After crossing the bridge with a companion who has translocation skills, discover the Bloodmoon Island waypoint. The rest of your party can then fast travel to this location, bypassing the need to cross the bridge.

Take The Ferry Across The Deathfog

For parties including Fane, an additional method to reach Bloodmoon Island is available. As an undead, Fane is immune to the Deathfog, allowing him to safely navigate it. Northwest of Cloisterwood, you'll find a pier with an undead ferryman who offers to ferry your party across the Deathfog to Bloodmoon Island. However, this is a deceptive promise; everyone but Fane will perish during the crossing. If Fane takes the ferry alone, he'll reach the island unharmed and can then unlock the Bloodmoon Island waypoint for the rest of the party to fast travel to.

Taking The Ferry Without Fane In The Party

If your party doesn't include Fane but you still want to use the ferry, you'll need to employ Teleporter Pyramids:

1. Unchain your party and place a Teleporter Pyramid in the inventory of the companion taking the ferry.
2. The companion will die upon reaching Bloodmoon Island's pier.
3. With the rest of the party chained, use the second Teleporter Pyramid to warp to the dead companion.
4. Revive the dead companion using a resurrection spell or scroll to continue your adventure.

Without Fane, taking the bridge is the fastest and safest method to reach Bloodmoon Island.

Be cautious not to attack the Undead Ferryman, as he can retaliate with a Deathfog spell, which is lethal. If you're tempted to engage him, quick save first. Defeating him grants you a Soothing Cold skillbook, an ordinary belt, and 3,750 XP.
