A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a marathon, not a sprint. Initially conceived in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, the project (then codenamed "Joplin") faced numerous delays, spanning almost a decade. BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resource allocation and ultimately leading to a complete development halt.
Revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," the game was formally announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
