Respawn Scraps Unannounced Titanfall Multiplayer Game
A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been canceled after several years in development. No reason for the cancellation was given.
Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported that the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry (meaning it wasn't Titanfall 3). Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists to develop it.
This isn't the first Respawn project to be canceled. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was shut down last year.
The Titanfall series is renowned for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as pilots or control powerful Titans. Since its debut in 2014, the franchise has cultivated a loyal following, thanks to its innovative gameplay combining parkour and dynamic team battles.
Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and a new Star Wars strategy game developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
