Revue Starlight Re LIVE, the mobile game based on the popular anime series, is officially ending service. The game's servers will shut down on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of nearly six years on Android.

The announcement, while not entirely unexpected, comes after a period of declining performance. Players observed repetitive events, reused assets, and an abundance of costly battle passes, all contributing to the game's waning popularity. Unconventional plot developments, such as the storyline shift involving "The Giraffe," further impacted player engagement. The shutdown will affect global servers, including Japan.

Despite its shortcomings, Revue Starlight Re LIVE offered several positive aspects. Its soundtrack, featuring numerous tracks from the anime, and the high-quality 3D graphics and Live2D animations were widely appreciated.

For those interested in experiencing the game before its closure, there are still several weeks remaining. Developers are launching farewell campaigns in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration event with new character gacha events at the start of each month.
