Rumor: One of the Biggest Xbox Franchises Reportedly Coming to Switch 2, PS5
Rumor: Halo: Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025
A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on both the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source indicates a potential 2025 launch window for these new versions of the six-game compilation. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to expand the availability of its first-party titles to non-Xbox platforms, a move that already included games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, while not developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, also saw its exclusivity period end. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on other platforms in October 2024, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle expected in Spring 2025 on PS5.
The report further claims that Microsoft Flight Simulator, likely referring to the recently released MFS 2024, is also being considered for a PS5 and Switch 2 release sometime in 2025.
More Xbox Games to Go Multi-Platform in 2025
This news is supported by another prominent leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that significantly more Xbox games will be making their way to PS5 and Switch 2. Corden has consistently voiced his belief that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is drawing to a close.
The future multi-platform expansion of the Call of Duty franchise is also highly anticipated. Microsoft's ten-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, announced in late 2022, is likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 before launching any titles.
