There are three primary ways to save your game: automatic saves, sleeping, and using Saviour Schnapps.

How Does Auto-Saving Work?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features a reliable auto-save system. While it won't constantly save during open-world exploration, it diligently saves progress at key moments during quests. Completing major quest steps or reaching checkpoints triggers an automatic save. The game provides numerous save slots, allowing for easy backtracking if needed. However, remember that auto-saves are not triggered during simple exploration; be cautious in combat situations.

Sleeping to Save

Locate a bed or campsite with a bedroll. Interacting with it initiates a rest period, simultaneously saving your game.

Saviour Schnapps: The Manual Save

Similar to the first game, consuming Saviour Schnapps allows for manual saving. Regular Schnapps also provides a temporary health boost and stat increases. Weaker versions solely save your game. Explore the world to find Schnapps or craft them once you've acquired the recipe.
