Developed by Bloober Team, the remake launched on October 8th, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Within days, it achieved one million sales, potentially making it the fastest-selling Silent Hill game ever, though Konami is yet to officially confirm this record.

Konami lauded the game's critical reception, noting numerous perfect review scores, awards, and nominations, solidifying its place as a timeless horror classic. IGN's review awarded the remake an 8/10, praising it as a "great way to visit – or revisit – one of the most dread-inducing destinations in the history of survival horror."
