Hazelight Games is celebrating the phenomenal launch of their latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, which has already sold an impressive 2 million copies within just one week of its release. The game, featuring a dual-protagonist narrative centered around characters Mio and Zoe, hit the shelves on March 6 and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. The studio expressed their gratitude on social media, stating they are "blown away" by the overwhelming support from both new and returning fans.

The game's sales trajectory has been nothing short of spectacular. Just 48 hours after its launch, Split Fiction had already captivated 1 million players. This means that in the subsequent five days, another million copies were snapped up by eager gamers.

As a co-op game, Split Fiction boasts a unique feature called the Friend’s Pass. This allows one player to buy the game and invite a friend to play for free, effectively doubling the potential number of players beyond the number of units sold. As the game continues to gain traction on social media, it's expected that the 2 million sales figure will continue to climb.

Hazelight's previous title, It Takes Two, which won Game of the Year in 2021, followed a similar path to success. It sold around 1 million copies shortly after its launch in March 2021, and by February 2023, this had increased to 10 million copies. By October 2024, sales had soared to an impressive 20 million copies.

In IGN's review of Split Fiction, the game was praised as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," highlighting its innovative approach to storytelling and gameplay.
