Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary
Star Wars: Hunters is facing an early shutdown, barely making it to its first anniversary. But should we even celebrate a dying game's milestone? It's a bittersweet moment for fans who hoped for more from this title.
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey after just nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5.Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th, introducing Tuya, a new Support Hunter, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, now's the time to use them as no refunds will be issued.
It Isn’t Shocking
The shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters might not come as a surprise to many. The game faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.The lack of major console support and a tepid reception didn't help its case. Even the game's design choices raised eyebrows, opting for generic original characters over the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe, which could have been a major draw.
