Ubisoft previously confirmed Star Wars: Outlaws for the Nintendo Switch 2, but today's update reveals the space adventure won't be a launch title on June 5. Instead, it will arrive months later on September 4.

For those who haven't played it elsewhere, Star Wars Outlaws takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, following Kay Vess - a petty criminal marked for death by a cartel. Our review scored it a 7, calling it "an enjoyable galactic heist adventure with strong exploration elements, though let down by basic stealth mechanics, repetitive combat, and some technical issues at launch."

While Ubisoft shared few additional details beyond confirming the Switch 2 release date, this update helps complete our Switch 2 Games List. With North American gamers stuck waiting for pre-orders due to Nintendo evaluating new tariff impacts from the Republican administration, any Switch 2 game news provides a welcome distraction.

The announcement came during a Star Wars Celebration Japan panel, where Ubisoft also previewed the game's second story expansion, A Pirate's Fortune. DLC will see Kay partnering with Hondo Ohnaka to challenge Stinger Tash, leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate's Fortune launches May 15.
