SHIFT UP Responds to DRM Concerns

As Stellar Blade prepares for its PC launch, developer SHIFT UP has addressed player worries about Denuvo anti-tamper technology. In a May 17 social media statement, they explained: "Our DRM implementation preserves average frame rates while sometimes improving minimum performance."

Digital Rights Management (DRM) serves as copy protection against piracy, though its performance impact remains controversial. SHIFT UP shared internal benchmark comparisons showing nearly identical results between DRM and non-DRM versions across all performance metrics.

The studio confirmed full mod support without restrictions - a notable exception among DRM-protected games. While players appreciated the transparency, many still hope for complete Denuvo removal to improve accessibility.

Regional Availability Challenges

Another concern involves PlayStation Network regional limitations affecting PC availability. Despite not requiring PSN connectivity, the game may remain unavailable in over 130 countries without PSN support.

SHIFT UP stated: "We're actively collaborating with our publisher to resolve most regional restrictions quickly." The developer assured both PC and PS5 versions will receive identical content updates, ensuring fair treatment for all players.
