Stellar Blade Confirmed for Full Sequel Development by Shift Up

The PlayStation-exclusive action title Stellar Blade is officially getting a follow-up game, developer Shift Up announced today. Originally launched in April 2024 to favorable reviews, the game earned praise for blending combat elements reminiscent of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

South Korean studio Shift Up revealed sequel plans through corporate documents accompanying its latest financial results. A strategic roadmap presented alongside the earnings report clearly outlines future projects including a Stellar Blade sequel scheduled for release before 2027.

The published materials also reference an upcoming "platform expansion" for Stellar Blade, presumably referring to the previously announced PC version launching June 11, 2025. Additionally, Shift Up's pipeline includes Project Witches - a multiplatform action RPG still shrouded in mystery.

This announcement follows recent reports about technical difficulties with the Steam store page availability across numerous territories. Earlier this week, Shift Up acknowledged working closely with Sony to resolve these regional access restrictions.

Reviewers have praised Stellar Blade's visual polish and combat mechanics while noting narrative shortcomings.
