Following August's Young Avengers season, Marvel Snap (Free) swings into a new season brimming with Spider-Man themed excitement! Get ready for an amazing, web-slinging adventure! While Bonesaw remains absent (for now!), this season introduces thrilling new cards and locations. Let's dive in!
This season shakes things up with a revolutionary card ability: "Activate." Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities offer strategic control, allowing players to trigger effects at optimal moments, bypassing potential counter-strategies. The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man (4-Cost, 6-Power), boasts an Activate ability that absorbs the lowest-cost card at its location and replicates its text. On Reveal effects are re-triggered upon copying. Pairing him with Galactus promises chaotic fun! His potent abilities might warrant a nerf later in the season.
Let's explore the other additions: Silver Sable (1-Cost, 1-Power) steals two power from the top card of your opponent's deck upon being played. Madame Web (Ongoing) lets you reposition one card at her location each turn.
Arana (1-Cost, 1-Power) is another Activate card. Activating her moves the next card you play to the right and boosts its power by +2, making her a potential staple in move-focused decks. Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) (4-Cost, 5-Power) also has an Activate ability; he creates an identical clone at another location.
Two new locations join the fray: The Brooklyn Bridge, where you can't place cards on consecutive turns, demands creative deck-building; and Otto's Lab, mirroring Otto's own abilities, pulls a card from your opponent's hand to the location upon playing your next card.
