The impending release of GTA 6 in Fall 2025 has left many GTA Online players wondering about the fate of their long-standing investment in the game. Zelnick stated, "Generally speaking, we support our properties when the consumers are involved with those titles. We've shown a willingness to support legacy titles when a community wants to be engaged with them."

This suggests that a future GTA Online iteration might not necessarily replace the existing game. Take-Two's approach seems to prioritize continued support for existing games with active player bases. Therefore, the continued popularity of GTA Online could ensure its ongoing maintenance alongside any potential new version.
