Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has addressed shareholder concerns following the GTA 6 delay announcement.

Rockstar recently confirmed a major schedule adjustment for GTA 6, which analysts predict will become the most massive entertainment release in history. Originally slated for fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the launch has been pushed to May 26, 2026 - shifting from Take-Two's fiscal 2026 to fiscal 2027 calendar.

Following the news, Take-Two's stock fell 7.98% in early trading. In an official statement, the company reaffirmed projections for record Net Bookings (revenue) growth across fiscal 2026 and 2027.

Zelnick expressed full support for Rockstar's decision, assuring shareholders this delay aligns with long-term strategic growth.

"We wholeheartedly endorse Rockstar Games' choice to extend development for Grand Theft Auto VI," Zelnick stated. "This groundbreaking experience must meet the highest creative standards and surpass fan expectations."

"While we recognize the global anticipation for GTA VI, our commitment to quality remains unwavering. Our robust pipeline positions Take-Two for sustained multi-year expansion and increased shareholder value."

With GTA 6's postponed release impacting 2026 revenue projections, attention turns to Take-Two's other franchises. The company's 2K Games division will release Borderlands 4 in September alongside Mafia: The Old Country. 2K Sports will deliver NBA 2K26, while future projects include a new BioShock and Ken Levine's Judas.

However, these titles can't compensate for GTA 6's massive financial impact. While fans anticipated the delay, many hoped for at least fresh screenshots to soften the news.
