This seventh installment, and 29th overall release including special events and themed stories, marks the end of a seven-year wait since the last comic in 2017.

Valve playfully acknowledged the extended development time, likening it to the construction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. They humorously pointed out that unlike the Tower's builders, TF2 players only experienced a "mere" seven-year wait.
