TikTok Is Back Online in the U.S. After Being Officially Banned on January 18
UPDATE (1/19/25) - After a brief period of being unavailable, TikTok has resumed its services in the United States.
"In coordination with our service providers, TikTok is currently restoring its platform," the company announced via a statement on X/Twitter. "We extend our gratitude to President Trump for the clarity and reassurance provided to our service providers, ensuring they can continue to support TikTok for more than 170 million Americans and enable over 7 million small businesses to flourish.
"This decision underscores a commitment to the First Amendment and opposes arbitrary censorship. We are eager to collaborate with President Trump to develop a sustainable solution that ensures TikTok remains accessible in the United States."
