While Alta corrects their misguided path, their steadfast refusal of tea reveals their sole beverage preference: coffee. Their unexpected persistence, even without coffee available, sets the stage for an unusual turn of events. Boro, the shop's owner, confirms coffee's absence from the forest, initially seeming to present an insurmountable obstacle for Alta. However, the arrival of Zenith, an interdimensional being fascinated by the businessmen, changes everything. Zenith's appreciation for the businessmen, contrasting with Alta's bewilderment, proves pivotal. Unlike the businessmen, Zenith agrees to try tea, a novel experience compared to their familiar "hot water brews," setting the stage for coffee's introduction.

How to Unlock Coffee Beans in Wanderstop

To unlock coffee, prepare a cup of tea for Zenith, incorporating a valuable item—anything from a book or trinket to a plant or photograph. After tasting, Zenith inquires about coffee, prompting Alta to reveal the key ingredient: coffee beans. Zenith then uses the Infinite Path to introduce coffee beans to the forest, adding them to Alta's Field Guide.

How to Harvest and Brew Coffee in Wanderstop

Coffee beans now grow wild in the clearing, respawning randomly. Harvest them like other ingredients. Store them in your inventory or carry one at a time. They can also be placed on surfaces. Before brewing, clean the beans using the dishwasher. Brewing involves adding water to the tea maker (heating optional), pouring the water into the infuser, adding a coffee bean (or more, with other ingredients), and decanting the brew into mugs.
