Following last month's Caliban Prime release, Warframe prepares for its next major chapter this October with The Vallis Undermind update. Launching on October 15th, this free expansion marks another significant milestone in the sci-fi action RPG's twelve-year journey. It focuses on refining the new player experience while delivering fresh content for seasoned veterans.

The Vallis Undermind update introduces The Teacher, a new early-game cinematic quest. Under Teshin's guidance, you'll learn equipment modding through scenarios that challenge you to adapt your loadout to survive. This one-time story mission serves as a bridge for players completing Vor’s Prize, rewarding them with the Thornbak rifle.

Alongside improvements for newcomers, the update adds the 62nd Warframe: Nokko. Inspired by fungi and brimming with mischievous energy, Nokko brings spore-based chaos to combat. Abilities include hurling toxic fungi, sprouting defensive buffs, transforming into a healing mushroom form, and unleashing bouncing explosive mushrooms. It's a full fungal arsenal.

Nokko can be earned for free by completing bounties. These lead you to The Deepmines, a new underground area beneath Fortuna. This fungus-ridden labyrinth features its own vendor, Nightcap, whose Foraging Journal tasks you with collecting mushrooms to feed a mysterious entity known as The Prince. Venturing deeper reveals more about Nokko's origins.

Fans of classic Warframes haven't been forgotten. Oberon receives a long-awaited rework, featuring improved healing, stronger support capabilities, and a more impactful Reckoning ability. Digital Extremes also previewed Roathe, a Protoframe voiced by Rene Zagger, which will later evolve into the devil-themed Uriel this year.

The update rounds out with seasonal content, including deluxe skins for Lavos and Wukong, spooky rewards in the Nights of Naberus event, and a Day of the Dead celebration. Warframe also continues its Quest to Conquer Cancer, offering community rewards tied to donation milestones.
