Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. Access is initially limited; a convenient entrance lies southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer Board Game: A Strategic Advantage

The Lifer shares its lair with a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create three-in-a-row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. Exiting preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs; the Lifer will immediately attack.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs, four removable using the Stake of Imbalance, and three permanent. View buffs via a yellow module behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs (using Stake of Imbalance):

• Growing Loneliness: HP recovery (10% Max HP/second) after 2+ seconds without attack.
• Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase; additional 25% ATK increase every 20 seconds.
• Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per hit (stacks to 4); stacks reset after 6 seconds without dealing damage.
• Decay of Time: 200% increased resistance to all elemental damage types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc); 25% Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs:

• Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
• Endless Game: 50% reduced Immobilization duration.
• Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP damage in a single hit.

Obtaining the Stakes of Imbalance

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates, accessing rooms containing winged statues and Stakes of Imbalance (marked by a white glow). Some rooms require Tacet Discord defeats or Friable Rock destruction. Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff; purple lines turn yellow upon debuffing.

Defeating the Lifer

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. The debuffed Lifer is significantly weaker. Its attacks pose minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer:

• First victory: Premium Supply Chest
• Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests
• Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests

Re-enable buffs via the modules for a greater challenge (no achievements for this).

Lifer Achievements:

• The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
• The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times (collect all nine chests).
• Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
• Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines; it will eventually make mistakes.
