Earlier this year, Xbox president Sarah Bond hinted at a mobile storefront. Now, it appears an Xbox Android app with exciting new features is launching as early as next month—November!

The app's November release will reportedly allow Android users to directly purchase and play Xbox games. This announcement, shared by Bond on X (formerly Twitter), highlights how a recent court ruling will increase flexibility and choice within the Google Play Store.

This ruling stems from Google's four-year antitrust battle with Epic Games. The court mandated that Google provide rival app stores access to its full app catalog for three years (November 1st, 2024 – November 1st, 2027), unless individual developers opt out.

What Makes This New App Special?

While a current Android Xbox app exists for console game downloads and cloud gaming (for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers), the November update adds direct game purchasing capabilities.
