This game-changing update, announced in an official Xbox Wire post, allows players to enjoy titles from both the Game Pass catalog and their personal library via cloud streaming, eliminating the need to wait for lengthy downloads or sacrifice valuable hard drive space.

While this functionality was previously available on PCs, smartphones, smart TVs, and Meta Quest headsets, this marks the first time console-based cloud streaming has been rolled out directly on Xbox hardware. It’s a major step forward for convenience, especially for users managing limited storage or looking to jump into gameplay instantly.

How to Stream Games on Your Xbox Console

To begin streaming on your Xbox device:

• Navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
• Look for the cloud badge on compatible titles—these indicate cloud-ready games.
• Use the filter option: select Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming for faster results.
• Choose your desired game and click Play with Cloud Gaming to start streaming immediately.

You can also begin streaming right after purchasing eligible cloud-playable games directly through the Store app.

Stream Installed Games to Other Devices

Xbox also continues to support remote play, letting users stream any installed game from their console to other devices using a compatible web browser via [ttpp].
