Following a strong Xbox Developer Direct to kick off 2025, the outlook is positive for Microsoft and its impressive roster of first-party studios. But which Xbox game series excites you the most? Which one delivered the most fun during the Xbox 360's glory days? Or, if you've never owned an Xbox, which series are you most eager to see come to other platforms like PlayStation, as Microsoft appears to continue its strategy of sharing its library worldwide.

There’s no shortage of legendary game series to pick from, especially after Microsoft's acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard. That means this tier list can include any series linked to Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard, provided it has more than one entry so far – apologies to MachineGames and Indiana Jones! Give us a sequel, please, and then you’ll qualify. Just a reminder that this isn’t a comprehensive list of all Xbox game series, so we haven’t included every single one, but we've aimed to cover current relevance and historical importance. Doom easily earns an S-tier spot for me, with recent entries ranking among my favorite first-person shooters. I'm also thrilled that Doom: The Dark Ages appears to keep id Software's winning streak alive. I've placed Forza Horizon in S-tier as well—aside from Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, they're arguably the best racing games I've ever experienced. Some may question Halo’s placement in A-tier, but while Halo 2 and 3 represent two of the finest shooter campaigns ever, I can't overlook recent inconsistencies to rank it in the top category. Also, I lean more toward Fallout than The Elder Scrolls. I’d rather have power armor than a dragon, okay?
