Yakuza Swashbucklers Embark on Tropical Misadventures in Digital Lair
A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam!
RGG Studio made the announcement via X/Twitter, stating the demo will be available for download at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK time. The full game releases February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but these platforms won't receive the demo.
While RGG Studio hasn't confirmed demo save transfer to the full game, it seems unlikely. The demo offers access to later game areas, including freeroam sections in Honolulu and Madlantis, and battles, bypassing the initial story progression.
The demo lets players:
- Freely explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis.
- Utilize the Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles.
- Battle powerful bounty enemies.
- Engage in four ship and deck battles within the Pirates' Coliseum.
- Experiment with new customization options.
- Enjoy karaoke with three selectable songs.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii serves as a spin-off sequel to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the eighth mainline entry (or ninth including Yakuza 0) in the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series. The game follows an amnesiac Goro Majima as he unexpectedly becomes a pirate, embarking on adventures in Hawaii.
An October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer showcased ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and the return of Taiga Saejima hints at stronger ties to the main series.
