In the world of television, beloved shows often find new life, and the iconic 2000s hospital sitcom Scrubs is the latest to make a comeback. It's been 24 years since we first saw Zach Braff's character, junior doctor JD, navigate the halls of Sacred Heart Hospital. Now, Braff is set to reprise his role in ABC's upcoming Scrubs reboot, which promises to blend new and returning cast members.

This isn't the first time ABC has attempted to revive Scrubs. The show's ninth season introduced a younger cast alongside Braff and other series regulars, but it didn't resonate with fans and was canceled after just nine episodes. However, nearly two decades later, ABC is giving it another shot. The original creator, Bill Lawrence, is at the helm of this reboot/revival hybrid.

With Braff's commitment secured, Entertainment Weekly suggests that other original cast members might also return. Bill Lawrence shared his vision with Deadline, stating, "We've been talking about a lot, and I think the only real reason to do it is a combo. A: people wanting to see what the world of medicine was like for the people they love, which is part of any successful reboot. But B: I think that show always worked because you get to see young people dropped into the world of medicine, knowing young people that go there are super idealistic and are doing it because it's a calling."
