The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors, offering a convenient way to monitor your glucose levels directly from your smartphone. By simply scanning your sensor, you can keep track of your glucose levels with ease. For users of the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, the app provides automatic glucose readings every minute and alerts you with alarms if your blood sugar levels become too high or too low. [1][2]
With the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you have the ability to:
- View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history
- Receive low or high glucose alarms when using FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors [2]
- Access detailed reports, such as time spent in target range and daily trends
- Share your data, with your consent, with your doctor and family [3]
Compatibility with Smartphones
The compatibility of the FreeStyle LibreLink app may vary depending on the smartphone and operating system in use. For a comprehensive list of compatible devices, please visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor
For FreeStyle Libre 2 users, alarms can be set to alert you either on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or on your phone, but not simultaneously on both devices. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the FreeStyle LibreLink app. Conversely, to receive alarms on your reader, you need to start the sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once the sensor is started with the reader, you can still scan it with your phone.
Important note: The app and the reader do not share data. To ensure comprehensive data collection, scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you wish to use for reports. Without regular scanning, your reports may not reflect all available data. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

[1] If you use the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you will also need access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as the app does not offer this feature.
[2] The alarms you receive do not include your glucose reading. So you need to scan your sensor to check your glucose level.
