SPIC (Simple Play Integrity Checker) is a user-friendly Android application designed to showcase the functionalities of the Play Integrity API and the now-deprecated SafetyNet Attestation API. This app provides a practical demonstration of how these APIs can be utilized to verify the integrity of a device.
With SPIC, users can check the integrity verdict directly on their device, offering immediate feedback on the device's status. Alternatively, the verdict can be sent to a remote server for validation. It's important to note that the remote server must be self-hosted at this time.
As an open-source project, SPIC's transparency is one of its key strengths. The source code for both the Android application and the server implementation is freely available on GitHub. You can explore the repositories at /herzhenr/SPIC-android for the app and /herzhenr/SPIC-server for the server component.
By using SPIC, developers and security enthusiasts can gain hands-on experience with these important security APIs, helping to ensure the safety and integrity of their applications.
