AI-Powered Characters Join inZOI & PUBG Co-op Gameplay
CES 2025 has unveiled a groundbreaking innovation in mobile gaming: the AI-powered "Co-Playable Character" (CPC). This new concept, first announced by Krafton (PUBG) on January 8th, introduces Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) infused with generative AI. Both PUBG and inZOI will integrate this technology.
inZOI's implementation, dubbed "Smart Zoi," promises emotionally deep and personalized NPCs, enhancing the realism of the simulation. In PUBG, the "PUBG Ally" will dynamically adapt strategies alongside players, creating unique gameplay experiences.
Developed in partnership with NVIDIA ACE, CPCs will enable real-time conversations and context-aware scenarios. Kangwook Lee, Head of Krafton's Deep Learning Division, stated, *"Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible."*
