Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC Specs Demand High-End Hardware for 4K

Square Enix has released updated PC specifications for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, revealing a need for powerful hardware, especially for 4K resolution. Two weeks ahead of the PC launch, the updated requirements highlight the need for high-end graphics cards with 12-16GB VRAM for optimal 4K gameplay.

The game will leverage DLSS upscaling, Shader Model 6.6 support, and DirectX 12 Ultimate. This follows the PS5 Pro enhancement patch released in November, optimizing the game for Sony's upgraded console. Unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake, however, Rebirth will not receive any DLC at this time; Square Enix is focusing on Part 3 of the Remake project.

While some initial PC specs were shared previously, Square Enix has clarified that 12-16GB of VRAM is recommended for 4K resolution. Other minimum, recommended, and ultra settings are detailed below. Note that a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 OS, 155GB of SSD storage, and 16GB of RAM are required across all settings.

Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has previously highlighted the enhanced lighting, shaders, and textures in the PC port. While Square Enix previously mentioned Steam Deck optimization, no further updates have been provided. The PC release is scheduled for January 23rd.
