Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will once again battle colossal mechanical creatures, upgrade their equipment, and undertake challenging missions in a world ravaged by resource depletion.

The remastered version boasts significant enhancements, including stunning upgraded visuals, faster-paced combat, and a streamlined crafting system. Key improvements detailed in the trailer include a new difficulty mode and the inclusion of all original customization DLC. Freedom Wars Remastered launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

Originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive, Freedom Wars' development was spurred by Sony's loss of exclusivity for the Monster Hunter franchise to Nintendo. While differing in setting, Freedom Wars shares a similar gameplay loop: players battle massive "Abductors," collect resources, and upgrade their gear to tackle increasingly difficult encounters. This core loop is refined and enhanced in the remastered edition.

Bandai Namco's new trailer provides a detailed look at the gameplay. It introduces the protagonist, a "Sinner" condemned for the crime of being born, and highlights the mission-based structure. Players undertake various missions – from rescuing citizens and destroying Abductors to securing control systems – either solo or in online co-op.
