Neil Druckmann: No Promises on The Last of Us Part 3
If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news on a potential *Part 3* video game, brace yourself for some disappointing news. Neil Druckmann, the series creator, has poured cold water on any hopes of a *Part 3* being developed... or even considered in the future.
In a recent interview with Variety, Druckmann focused mainly on the *The Last of Us* TV series but was directly asked about the prospects of *The Last of Us Part 3*. His response was unambiguous and disheartening:
"I was waiting for this question," he said with a sigh. "I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it."
The question now is whether to take Druckmann at his word. Naughty Dog is currently engrossed in developing *Intergalactic*, which was unveiled at The Game Awards last December. Given the absence of a release window for *Intergalactic*, it's clear that the studio's focus is firmly set on this new project, leaving little room for *The Last of Us Part 3* in the near future. Druckmann might be playing his cards close to the chest, or he could genuinely be finished with the series. Only time will tell.
However, if you're still hungry for more *The Last of Us* content, the television series offers some solace. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about the number of seasons required to fully adapt the story of *Part 2*, an HBO executive hinted in February that four seasons might be the ideal number to complete the narrative.
