Grinding Gear Games, the developers behind the highly anticipated action role-playing game Path of Exile 2, have recently implemented emergency changes in response to widespread community backlash against the Dawn of the Hunt update. This update, released earlier this month, introduced the new Huntress class, five new ascension classes, over one hundred new unique items, and expanded crafting options. However, it also brought about significant gameplay nerfs, leading to a sharp decline in Steam user reviews to 'mostly negative.'

The community's main grievance was the perceived slowdown of the game's pace, which many players felt turned the experience into a "total slog." Feedback on Steam highlighted issues such as elongated boss fights, skills with low damage output, and overall game stability problems. Monster Speed Changes

GGG has made adjustments to monster behavior to reduce player overwhelm. Key changes include removing interrupt events from fast-attacking human monsters and altering the Haste Aura modifier to prevent its application on already fast monsters. Boss Changes

Notable bosses like Viper Napuatzi and Uxmal have been tweaked to improve fight dynamics and clarity. For instance, the number and size of Chaos Rains in the Viper Napuatzi fight have been reduced, and Uxmal's ability to change locations and recharge Energy Shield has been limited.

Player Minion Changes

Minion revive timers have been adjusted to prevent long waits when multiple minions die, and improvements have been made to allow for better control and usage of bound spectres and tamed beasts.

Other Player Balance

Additional tweaks include expanding the Rally support skill to work with any melee attack and fixing bugs related to certain skills and ascendancy mechanics.

Crafting Changes

New mods have been added to runes for caster weapons, and a new feature allows players to obtain elemental runes from Renly's shop in the Burning Village, enhancing crafting flexibility.
