Pokémon GO's 8th Anniversary Celebration is almost here! Get ready for a week of festivities starting Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. This anniversary event promises exciting new Pokémon debuts, boosted bonuses, and enhanced raid and trading opportunities.

Prepare for party-hat-wearing Grimer and Muk! Keep an eye out for a Shiny Grimer – a rare treat! Plus, Meltan makes a shiny return if you utilize the Mystery Box during the event.

Increased chances of becoming Lucky Friends and acquiring Lucky Pokémon through trades are on the horizon. Friendship levels will rapidly increase when opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together. You might even discover 8 or 88 Gimmighoul Coins when spinning PokéStops with a Golden Lure Module.

Special bonuses abound throughout the event!

• June 28th-29th: Half Egg Hatch Distance!
• June 30th-July 1st: Double XP for catching Pokémon!
• July 2nd-3rd: Double Stardust for catches!

One-star raids will feature the costumed Pokémon with increased Shiny rates. Event-themed Field Research tasks will reward encounters with partner Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, and others. Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert will also be up for grabs.

For a small fee, you can participate in Timed Research tasks and the Whispers in the Woods Masterwork Research. Check the official website for a complete list of paid events. The Pokémon GO web store offers adorable stickers and a special Anniversary Box, so be sure to explore those as well.
