Tomaszkiewicz explained the design philosophy behind this choice: "It’s hard to do those stories because you are just stronger and stronger and stronger," he stated. The day-night duality, inspired by classic tales like Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, offers a fresh take on the superhero archetype, grounding the power fantasy in realistic limitations. By day, Coen is vulnerable; by night, he unleashes his supernatural potential.

This mechanic introduces strategic depth. Sadowski emphasized the impact of this mechanic on player agency: "It will definitely force you to make choices...what to do, and what to ignore...to maximise your chances of defeating the main enemy," he explained.
