When specifically asked about a Devil May Cry remake, he enthusiastically stated, "A remake like that, well, I would like to do that."

First Released 2001

Originally conceived as Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry underwent significant changes during development, leading Capcom to launch it as a standalone title in 2001. Reflecting on its creation nearly 25 years later, Kamiya revealed that the game was born out of personal turmoil. In 2000, after a painful breakup, he channeled his emotions into crafting the game. He described how this experience fueled the creation of Devil May Cry.

Kamiya confessed that he rarely replays his own games after their release, including Devil May Cry. However, when he occasionally comes across gameplay clips, he recognizes the game's age and its traditional design elements.
