“岩田先生也参与了‘任天堂明星大乱斗’这个名字的构思。我们团队成员提出了一系列可能的名称和词语，”樱井政博在视频中详细解释道。然后，他们与《地球冒险》系列的创造者糸井重里先生举行了一次会议，最终确定了该系列的名称。樱井政博补充道：“岩田先生是选择‘兄弟’这个词的人。他的理由是，即使这些角色根本就不是兄弟，使用这个词也增加了这样的细微差别：他们不仅仅是在战斗——他们是朋友，正在解决一些小摩擦！”
除了《任天堂明星大乱斗》的名称由来外，樱井政博还分享了他第一次与岩田聪相遇的经历，以及其他对这位前任任天堂社长的美好回忆。据樱井政博说，岩田聪亲自帮助编写了《任天堂明星大乱斗》原型的代码，当时这款游戏被称为任天堂64上的《龙王：格斗游戏》。
